Salaam and hello!

I’m Shabana, a teacher and now a children’s picture book author too. I love being able to write for children and focus on faith-inspired, diverse books. I want to help children feel represented, especially mini Muslims so that they can feel seen and heard and grow their love for Islam.

When I’m not writing, I love to spend time with family and friends and my hobbies include singing nasheeds (faith songs) in the kitchen or the car, doodling and playing the daff (a traditional drum).

I’m a tea-drinker, biscuit-dunker and chocolate-hunter – an author has to fuel her imagination!
