“Masha Allah it’s brilliant!

There’s so much to explore on each page, with lots of information to keep the child entertained. I love the fact that there’s lots of sections on there that my 5 year old isn’t that familiar with, so great to teach him along the way.

This is a very fun, rhyming book about Madrassa. I love how the characters are all diverse because it is a great way to talk about how Allah created us all uniquely. There are also lots of opportunities to learn Sunnah acts, duas, and good deeds along the way.

My little cousin enjoyed this book and was really happy to find his favourite dua in it “Rabbi Zidni Ilma.”

I think this is a perfect book for little ones who attend Madrassa.

Nusaybah

‘It’s Madrassa Time’ is an ideal book for young children starting or in the early years of their Islamic learning journey.

It’s colourful, fun and full of familiar pictures for the children to identify with. My 4 year old – youngest, was even able to interact. 🥰

Thank you Shabana Hussain, another wonderfully written book addressing the needs of our children.

Mrs Din

“I really love it!
The pictures – you want to go to this madrassa! I love the Spot and Discuss activities at the back. This book came at the right time, it picked me up and got me excited about my faith and the kids’ faith.”

Mum of 4

Masha Allah another beautiful book!

Rayhaan enjoyed it and was familiar with a lot of the terms. It’s colourful and bright and really drew my son in. We really liked the illustrations!

Sending Salaam to the prophet ﷺ gave us a few things to talk about like his character.

It’s an easy read, but beautifully captures the essence of the madrassa.

Mrs Aziz

Sami is a quiet boy who does not enjoy going to school. He has no real friends and is often on his own. But things begin to change when a new boy, Gamba, joins his class. When Sami sees the others teasing Gamba, will he brave enough to find his voice and speak up?

“Speak up Sami is an empowering story about courage, kindness and friendship. A heartwarming book to enjoy at home or in the classroom, providing opportunities to have meaningful discussions around bullying, diversity and celebrating differences”.

Hamza Attends a Janaza

Hamza’s usual fun Saturday is cancelled when his family receives the sad news that Uncle Sameer has died. Follow Hamza through the day as he learns about the various aspects of a Janaza.
This story is a gentle introduction to attending an Islamic funeral, told from a child’s perspective. It familiarises children with some of the etiquettes/rituals surrounding a funeral and provides the opportunity for important discussions around death and the afterlife, in an age-appropriate manner.

“This book is geared toward Muslim children, but it contains a universal message about honor and respect.”

Elisabeth Egan, The New York Times

This beautiful book introduces the topic of death and Janaza in a thoughtful way, introducing key terms like ghusl, salat-al janaza, burial and Jannatul firdaws through a heartfelt story.

MBR Judge @islamicschoollibrarian

Even though I am not religious, and this story is told through a religious lens, I found it comforting and dignifying.

An extremely important book that has been so well written.

Children's Book Reviewer @sophie_saysaloud

The best part, well one of the best parts is at the end there is a whole glossary, activity ideas and it goes through all the Arabic words used in the story so you can be comfortable with them. 5 stars!

A.Friesen, Child Life Specialist, Toronto, Canada

It’s written in such a sensitive manner.

Dr Shameela Islam-Zulfiqar
